On January 15, Jim Moore joined CGTN’s Anand Naidoo as well as Jeff Moon, former U.S. Assistant Trade Representative for China Affairs, Yan Liang, head of the department of economics at Willamette University, and John Gong, professor of economics at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing for a discussion on the U.S.-China trade deal signed that day. Moore shared his thoughts on the factors underlying the trade tensions but also looked ahead to future negotiations between the U.S. and China on trade.

Moore, a former assistant secretary of commerce, negotiated the Uruguay round at the GATT, which led to the formation of the World Trade Organization.
